Nina Davis

Her recent collaborative exhibitions saw her utilise Wiltshire’s landscape, cartography and heritage as a narrative, combining text and colour with stitched papers. Appearing quilt-like, these long hangings and smaller framed pieces, explore the qualities of textiles with transient materials.

Previous exhibitions include exhibiting with Avon Artists Collective, Bath Textile Artists and several solo and collaborative exhibitions in Calne, Bath, Bristol, Birmingham and London. Aside from her textile work, she is developing a collection of mixed media paintings exploring a fascination of botany and nature’s colours through the changing seasons. Through using a select colour palette, (often using only three colours to complete a painting) she produced a collection of work based on colour exploration, through abstraction. In using dyes and paint to replicate natures movements, she develops layers of texture and colour. Photographs and observational studies underpin a sense of place, and sometimes the journey which has previously taken place.
