Nina is a full time Head of Art and Arts Award Adviser, who collaboratively works with other artists, craftspeople and textile designers alongside her teaching. She loves networking with like-minded creatives, and proactively seeks to develop create and sustain new networks and cross-curricular opportunities. She is part of the Arts Committee for the Calne Music and Arts Festival and a regional member of the National Society for Education in Art and Design (NSEAD).
For her most recent exhibition, she collaborated with Audio/Sound engineer Peter Slater, combining an aural history of Calne, Wiltshire. Her work (embroideries and a paper-cut series) were placed in and around a library draw set, with accompanying audio memories. Previous exhibitions include exhibiting with Avon Artists Collective, Bath Textile Artists and several solo and collaborative exhibitions in Calne, Bath, Bristol, Birmingham and London.
Aside from her textile work, she is developing a collection of mixed media paintings exploring a fascination of collected memories and colour nature’s through the changing seasons. Through using a select colour palette, (often using only three colours to complete a painting) she produced a collection of work based on colour exploration, through abstraction. Photographs and observational studies underpin a sense of place, memories, recorded dialogue and sometimes the journey which has previously taken place.
